Raingem.com Hits One Year Mark

Raingem.com has been up for one year exactly.

On January 4th, 2008 yours truly set out to post at least one article a day for one year. The articles had to be about migraine or at least migraine-related.

Here are the results of this undertaking:

396 articles published, including this one. Considering that each article is at least 250 words, it's 99000 words. Some of them are way longer so 100000 words is not an impossibility here.

Yours truly started the last year with a migraine every 2-3 days. Almost a chronic migraine, just not quite. The tension headaches compensated on the alternative days rather nicely though.

As it stands now, the last recorded migraine was 22 days ago. Yours truly has gone through the holidays without a single attack, despite a fair share of over-indulgences and all the stress.

One thing about writing on a certain subject for long enough - one learns a lot. The amount of useful information on this site could probably fill a book, or a couple. Hopefully my gentle readers have found the articles helpful for them as well.

Some experiments were conducted, a few of them recorded here. The ketogenic-inspired diet was a particular success as far as migraine prevention goes.

Now yours truly has to find something else to write about. Several subjects are of particular interest. Some would help with the next stage - what to do when one is no longer in almost constant pain. Some are of more practical nature - less pain means more time, might as well make good use of it. Yours truly will need to vegetate on that.

This site is going to continue - the Migraine has no cure, after all - but at a less crazy pace.
