Interesting things can be found in the most unlikely places.
Yours truly has been browsing for some migraine news and stumbled upon this piece of info:
"I've had migraines since before I was in kindergarten (I'm 58 now), and the best thing I've found is ginger. Jamaican-style ginger beer (stronger than ginger ale) is good, though rather sweet. The pickled ginger sold with sushi is a godsend. It also helps with the nausea."
Folksy remedies for migraine headache are abound and ginger is probably one of the first people mention.
Jamaican ginger beer and Japanese sushi pickled ginger, called Gari, are somewhat of a new twist to the whole Ginger thing. At least for yours truly.
If any of my gentle readers would brave to try either one, a word of caution, however, is in order.
Both contain sugar, and Jamaican ginger beer is really, really sweet. So, do keep it in mind, my gentle readers. No need to substitute one headache for another.
