Have a Migraine? Try Aspirin - Says Atheist Billboards President

There are 11 billboards in metro Denver and Colorado Springs that question the existence of God.

They go something like this - "Don't believe in God? You are not alone."

The group that started the campaign is called the Colorado Coalition of Reason or COCORE. COCORE said the billboards are not meant to offend Christians, but rather to create a more cohesive secular community of non-believers and free-thinkers.

"It simply reaches out to people who have no belief in God and are feeling isolated by the religious world around them," said Marvin Straus, co-founder of the Boulder Atheists.

Joel Guttormson, the president of the Metro State Atheists, said the billboard should be viewed as nothing more than a message to non-believers.

"We don't even mention Christianity on the billboard," said Guttormson. "I would like to know what they're offended by. It's not even targeted to them. For instance, if there's a billboard talking about Migraines and it says, "Have a Migraine? Try Aspirin." Or something to that effect. People who don't have Migraines shouldn't be offended."

Seriously, Joel. One thing is to pick on Christians. They are trained to turn the other cheek.

Picking on Migraine people would get you into much more trouble. Look around you - one out of ten people you see has a migraine. And there's a good chance that being chronically pissed off is a pre-condition for that person.

So, whatever you do guys, don't put up "Have a Migraine? Try Aspirin." billboard. As a matter of fact, stay clear of mentioning migraines altogether. Stick to safer topics.

I know... Sometimes people can be a bit in-sensitive like that. Still, I thought it was pretty funny, in a somewhat morbid kind of way :P

Um, yeah, I would be offended. Kind of like 'Have depression? Try smiling'.

"Have a midlife crisis? Get a Harvey." Lets not pass an opportunity to alienate a middle-age community :P
