Myofascial Release has been gaining some popularity with migraine people recently. It's a soft tissue therapy, sort of like a massage. And who among us don't like a bit of massage now and then?
The special soft tissue - fascia, with which Myofascial Release Technique is concerned, is a substance that covers and permeates the entire body. It surrounds muscles, bones, organs, nerves, blood vessels, etc. It's job is "maintaining structural integrity; for providing support and protection; and acts as a shock absorber."
If fascia is out of whack due to an injuries, stress, inflammation, trauma or poor posture, the organs that it surrounds are affected. That's where Myofascial Release comes in.
Most times to get the Myofascial done, you need to see a specialist. However, there are ways to go DIY.
Mike Robertson, a well known trainer and healthy living advocate, wrote a whole book on the subject and is giving it away for free. And yes, it has pictures.
Unfortunately, there's no mentioning in it about "migraine" or "headache" but it has plenty of other good stuff that migraine people, as well as CDH and tension headache folks might appreciate.
