Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault on Migraine Patients

"Dr. Suresh Gupta took advantage of four patients, improperly touching them while they were vulnerable, even as they were having injections in their temples or backs."

Please don't mix this guy up with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who is a chief medical correspondent for the health and medical unit at CNN.

The first names are different, do pay attention. The good one is Sanjay. His name translates as "triumphant".

Suresh is the looser one, and his name means "ruler of the gods"

Hearing that he is, indeed, above the gods on daily basis might have gone to his head (no offense to other Sureshes out there).

At lease four women came forward to accuse the "no"good doctor in a behavior not befitting a physician. Suresh Gupta is accused in improper touching, fondling, mentioning pornographic movies, etc.

The case is still ongoing and as usual in this sort of cases, it will come down to the credibility of the victims. Their word against his. Here's hoping the jury will make a correct decision.

It is not however, as bad as straight-forward sexual assault. In Brisbane, Australia, a nurse has just been jailed for five years for raping a female patient he was helping to treat.

One Nicholas Allan Carroll, a nurse in Beenleigh medical center, administered morphine to a patient and sexually assaulted her soon afterwards.

BTW, Nicholas translates from Greek as "victory of the people". Well, the people did get their victory by putting him away for his crime.

A report showed Carroll was suffering from an untreated bi-polar disorder which made him think he could "do anything".

No, Nicholas and Suresh, you can not do anything you want.

My gentle readers, do be careful. The people who work in hospitals, clinics, treatment centers are people, not gods. And sometimes they can't be trusted.

Rain,

OMGosh, I just posted on part of this also in my WEGO Health Blog. I also added that this should serve to remind each of us of some VERY important rules for ER care.

Sometimes it seems there is nowhere we can be safe.

I'll sure post a link to your article too Rain! BTW- thanks for all the support. You're too great!

These are the stories that no one talks about. We do need to make sure more people know about them.
Took me long time to type that article; upsets me so much.
