Teaching Kids Visualize Migraine Pain

Kids can't deal with stress well. Unlike adults, they won't talk about it; they simply don't know how. That is the point child psychologist Rusty Lozano makes when he talks about helping kids to deal with the stress of migraine pain.

To overcome this "code of silence", he uses biofeedback and teaches kids to literally "think their pain away".

"He explains that pain is triggered by actions that we aren't even aware of. We can learn to put ourselves in a more relaxed state when we see first hand what stress looks like."

In other words, instead of being a silent monster in the closet, the pain or any other stress becomes a tangible, recognizable thing. And as such, it can be controlled.
